In the new apartment....

So I've been in my new place for a little over a week now and I have to say......

I love it!   You can see pictures (before I got in there) of it on Laura's site  I love having 20 minutes less of driving to work each way.  I love being geographically close to so many conveniences.  I'm only 5 minutes from church, not that 10 minutes was far before, but 5 is better!

For 3 whole months I will be living completely alone.  I'll probably be pretty lonely by then and have one more reason to welcome my new wife to our home.

I'm giving up luxuries I've enjoyed before to save money and learning to live without them.  You won't see me online very often because I don't have internet.  I've decided that because I live7/10 of a mile from the Marple library that I'll just use theirs for free.  I've also decided not to have cable television and am learning to enjoy public broadcasting much more as well as other ways to use my time better.

I've also found a nifty thing in the grocery store called Redbox where you can rent new release movies for only $1 if you return it by 9 the next evening.  So I'll save the money I otherwise would've spent at blockbuster, etc.

work and life

I notice a large number while looking at my microsoft outlook email inbox at work.  That number is 2225....or how many emails I've received in the last 4+ months since I started.  It seems pretty daunting.  That's not counting spam or junk mail.  These are actual, valid, need to be responded to or acted on emails.

In my personal email box sits roughly 600 or so that I've received over the course of a little over a year.  What a contrast. Is work busier than life?  No I don't think that's the conclusion to be drawn.  I'm not sure there's a cause to draw any conclusion really.  I guess I'm just observing.

In other news, I got an A in my Organizational behaviour class!

Why so long since I last put up a "real" entry?

I've been pretty busy.  With what? With work x 2, with school, with getting ready to move into a new apartment in only 3 weeks, with getting ready for a wedding in less than 4 months.

I won't recap the last few months that I've been neglecting this site...instead I'll just start again with last weekend with a few pics to follow.

Last weekend Laura came down for a visit.  We managed to get many things done and have some fun also.  We took a trip last saturday to lancaster county to go through the amazing corn maze at Cherry crest farm.  It was a beautiful day.  We made it through the maze in just under 2 hours but weren't really trying for speed.  At least I wasn't.  I was enjoying the view and waiting for the train to go by on the strasburg railroad which runs through the farm.

Hopefully I'll be better at keeping up with this again.....we'll see.
